NL2000 version 3.0 download instructions

Minimal system requirements

Before downloading NL2000 version 3.0 make sure your system meets the minimal system requirements!. The installer requires Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1, you can download this on www.microsoft.com. NL2000 Version 3.0 requires Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004.

Download Instructions

NL2000 version 3.0 is distributed via the BitTorrent network. BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer file sharing (P2P) communications protocol. BitTorrent is a method of distributing large amounts of data. For more information about BitTorrent see Wikipedia. The total download size of NL2000 version 3.0 is 21 GB!

If you already know how to download a file via BitTorrent you can simply skip the next part and go to the .torrent files download option. Otherwise, please use our Easy Download option

Option 1: Easy download

  1. Click on the following link:
  2. When asked to run or save the file, choose to save it.
  3. Save the file on a location on your hard drive, for example on your desktop.
  4. Also save the following files on your hard drive: (right click on the links and select save as)
  5. Start the downloaded “NL2000_v3.0_part_1_of_5_(DVD1).torrent.exe” file by double clicking on it.
  6. BitTorrent will now ask where you want to save the DVD. Please choose a location with enough free disk space, 4,5 GB for each DVD.
  7. It is possible your firewall will ask if the program is allowed to connect to the Internet. Choose to allow a connection to the Internet.
  8. It is also possible the BitTorrent opens http://www.blogtorrent.com in your browser and is asking for a donation to the Blog Torrent project. This has nothing to do with the NL2000 project. We will not receive this donation.
  9. The download will now start, the screen will look like:
  10. Now double click on the saved “NL2000 v3.0 part 2 of 5 (DVD2).torrent”
  11. BitTorrent will now again ask where you want to save the DVD. Please choose a location with enough free disk space, 4,5 GB for each DVD.
  12. The download will now start
  13. Repeat step 11 and 12 for the other three .torrent files:
    • “NL2000_v3.0_part_3_of_5_(DVD3).torrent”
    • “NL2000_v3.0_part_4_of_5_(DVD4).torrent”
    • “NL2000_v3.0_part_5_of_5_(DVD5).torrent”
  14. Leave your computer on while the scenery is being downloaded. When you have to shutdown or restart your computer, please see instructions below about how to resume the download.
  15. When the download is finished, the screen looks like:
  16. Please keep this window open. When you keep the program running, you will help other users downloading the file. So simply choose to minimize the program and keep it running for about a week, if you need to restart your computer, please see instructions below about how to restart the program.
  17. When all 5 DVD’s are finished downloading you can start the installer by double clicking NL2000V3.exe in the directory “NL2000 v3.0 part 1 of 5 (DVD1)” or you can first burn the contents of the 5 directories to 5 DVD’s. For more information please read the manual on DVD 1!

When you have to restart your computer:

  1. Start/Restart the computer.
  2. Start the BitTorrent program saved in step 2 and the .torrent files saved in step 4 again by double clicking on it.
  3. Choose the same download location as done in step 5 and 11.
  4. BitTorrent will check if the download is complete and will start uploading data to other users. This way you help others to download the file.

OR

Option 2: Download via a BitTorrent client

When you have already installed a BitTorrent client. You can click the following .torrent file to start downloading. So if you don’t have a BitTorrent client installed, please use option 1: easy download.

Please keep the .torrent’s seeding for about a week. This way you can help us to distribute NL2000V3 for free.

When all 5 DVD’s are finished downloading you can start the installer by double clicking NL2000V3.exe in the directory “NL2000 v3.0 part 1 of 5 (DVD1)” or you can first burn the contents of the 5 directories to 5 DVD’s. For more information please read the manual on DVD 1!
