framerate

Post by harpsi » Wed Aug 04, 2004 2:03 pm

Hi

It is really strange that after the question of the frame rates have been discussed all over the years, I get 3 or 4 frames in this scenery will a very good machine. Nothing running in the back, 2500 athlon processor with a good geforce 4 and 1024 ram memory. Amazing. Well, I have ultimate traffic installed but in other places I have a lot of framerates, but not here. Is that possible to modify or to have less heavy textures? Otherwise I can not use the scenery

If you get this all, over the Netherlands, something is wrong. Biggest problem is Amsterdam airport, specially when you have a lot if AI traffic installed. In the rest of the country (except Rotterdam harbour) you should get frames 15-20.

Also it makes a lot of difference if you have many programs running resident on you computer, or if you have used other programs before you have started FS.

Try to run NL2000 without AI traffic and see what you framerate is doing
Run FS9 with as less as possible resident programs, and see what you framerate does.

Yeah, sorry fellows, but I am also complaining about the point that Schiphol has a too low FPS in NL2000.. Default EHAM is still ok..

Well, good frame rates have been eluding all of us all these years. Check out this link: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/ ... 04_40.html for a overview of what the reviewers see as a "very good machine". I have the same problem as you do: a AMD 2400+ / 512Mb with a GF 4200 with 64Mb RAM. As you will see, there's lots of headroom...as long as you have the bucks.
