Check scenery.cfg after NL2000 install!!

Post by Airbus319 » Tue Aug 27, 2002 2:42 am

I was successful getting NL2000_v2 and NL2000u2 installed into FS2002 I checked out EHAM and it really looks great. The design team did a fantastic job on this scenery.

I would like to pass on a couple of minor glitches regarding the automatic install of this scenery into FS2002. First, when I ran NL2000_v2 it defaulted to my FS2000 directory. I changed it to FS2002. The install also installs and runs a program called USITool which apparently executes the install and also modifies the scenery.cfg file automatically. In my case it modified the file as if it was a FS2000 scenery.cfg. I discovered this when I checked the number of areas I had in my old scenery.cfg file and compared to the new one. For some reason the new scenery.cfg file had fewer scenery areas then I had before. In addition, when I selected one of my previously saved flights, it would not load, FS2002 stopped running and said there was a problem with a file called visualfx.dll. Thats when I found the problem with the scenery.cfg file size. This was all easily fixed by recovering the backup file and then manually entering the information for the NL2000 scenery. You may want to mention to others that this glitch may occur to them if they use FS2002.

Thanks again for the fine scenery. I will be looking forward to any future updates.

It is true that the installer for v2 points to the Fs2000 folder by default. When the installer was made Fs2002 did exist :).

Thanks for reporting on the scenery.cfg problem. We haven't heard that before.
