NL 2000 and frame rates

Post by ha5mvo » Sat Dec 14, 2002 7:08 pm

sorry for posting in the wrong language but there is not a lot happening on the english side of this forum. anyway my duch will be good enough te begrijp an answer in dutch.

OK, the frame rate issue is well known, is there a way to delete some of the static/dynamic files in order to improve FR's. such a pitty, this scenery is by far the best offered (payware included) only large parts of it are totaly unfliable due to fps of 3-4 even on fast machines.

thanks

For most of the airfields the statics are an integral part of the scenery file and can not be deleted. We will be changing this in the next version (or for EHAM there will probably be no statics at all, as AI traffic is much nicer).

So I am afraid that you can not do much at the moment. But on a fast computer the scenery shouldn't run that bad.

Also you can lower the density settings....

The density settings are special made by Microsoft for different computers (read faster or slower computers). If you place your density setting on normal, or maybe dense, then you can fly with much higher framesrates.

I had a pentium 600, and with the density on normal, i could fly on EHAM (Schiphol) without any problem.

Now I'm flying with a AMD 2000+ with al display settings on high, and I can fly everywhere with frames from 15 to 90... :)
