Ai Stupidity

Post by 617_Sticks » Sun Jan 01, 2012 3:01 am

This is an information post because the outcome discussed is not easily fixed.

In 2007 I flew with Air-Berlin so by association I was interested to see it fly. "Ai Spotting" is rather interesting at times.

I noted on my radar that this aircraft was flying EHEH to EHWO so I followed it in View Traffic:

(I have an insert this time, amazing).
The pilot has got it wrong and circles for another attempt. The passengers are in for a fright:

What are those rusty relics?

Touch down! It went all the way to the end of the approach lights before turning. They can all breath again.

Recovery! Go for a park. The wheels are in the runway as this was before I fixed that problem.

I have found that Ai flight tuning can create these sorts of problems. This is a short haul flight and the aircraft has not connected correctly. At another airfield in a longer flight it will be OK if the approach is not as tight.

However I did substitute one of my own flyables from 2005 as a Ai and Niki gets it right. World Champion F1 drivers make better pilots it seems.

Not all things in FSX are right, but that would make an interesting film.

Part of "Ai Spotting" is to get up with them and fly as close as possible.
