Static aircraft

Post by eal401 » Sat Aug 24, 2002 11:08 am

The First Post here!! :D

After several patient hours, I have downloaded and installed NL2000 into FS2002. I think I got the right files, it appears to work anyway! I also downloaded a predone AFCAD file to align AI traffic at EHAM.

However, there seem to be a number of static aircraft at the terminals and I wondered if it is possible to remove them?

Great scenery, I love being able to go into the terminal piers! The views at the window look so real at times!!

No, at the moment you can not remove the statics easily. You can set the density lower and then they will dissapear, but of course you will lose other details too them.

For the next version this problem will be solved, but right now it is not easy.

Just downloaded it today. Great, awesome, realistic, but...........

I've got a lot of Project AI stuff and my Schipol is very busy and the statics are taking up valuable space at the terminal.

Any info as to when an update would be available to remove the statics or could you provide a list of .bgl files that refer to static aircraft, so that I can manually remove them?

Cheers

At the moment it is not possible to delete the static by removing some BGL files. This is because the static planes are in a library and are called from the main BGL file.

At the moment we are working hard on the next version (that will not have statics, as AI is much better). We haven't decided a release date yet, but it will be somewhere in the spring.

I have got rid of the statics just by deleting the ehamstat.bgl. Off course this is not zhe elegant way and now I get the "scenery object not found" message 14 times in a row when loading EHAM or when entering the area, but still I prefer this to the static aircraft.

BTW guys, this is a great scenery, excellent work!

That is indeed an option, but I guess most people will not like that error message :D.

This gave me a good idea :D. I have made an empty ehamstat.bgl file that prevents the error messages and still results in removed statics. Here is that file:

Hi Arno,

Thanks a lot! I have tested the new bgl yesterday and it works perfectly!

I had tried before to erase the static aircrafts from the bgl by using "Bgl Remover" but allways ended up with a 0 bit file. Using this file had the same effect as deleting the whole bgl.
