Installing Library file

Post by Rayclyde » Mon May 31, 2010 4:15 am

Successfully installed the V4 Installer and unzipped all supporting files into the same folder as the installer exe. On running the installer it will not load the Libraries file. It appears to load as far as - I think _ a request for fx_f16_ab.fx and stops with a "denied access" failure combine with a number of others. A colleague has exactly the same failure. We are both running Windows 7 and both downloaded the files from Flight Sim. Also note that the "resample" files shown in the Manual P11 fig 8 do not appear in our unzipped files. Have tried new download of the Libraries file and also turned off antivirus and firewall programs to no avail. Can any hepf us please.

Be sure you run the installation as a administrator, this error message is saying you don't have the access richts on the fSX folders.

Thanks. I have confirmed that I am running as the "administrator" but I still get the same result. I have sent you an e-mail showing you the error message. It may help

Do you log in as an administrator or do you install as an administrator?
Even if you're login in with an administrator account in Win7 you don't have full access.
I'm not a win7 user but you can try doing the follow.
Go to your FSX folder in the explorer, right click on it, then go to properties and then go to the tab security, in that direction you have to look.
So you need to be sure the security on folder level in this case the FSX folder.
Also you can try to disable any antivirus software running when installing.

Thank you. That was the answer. (For those following this subject - Right click on the FSX shortcut, click on securities, select the user name that you use and add the authorities needed)
