Installer installation not possible

Dear NL2000 team and fellows FSX enthusiasts around,

I'm having serious problems to run the installer, to begin with. It gives me this error:
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at NL2000V4_0.NL2000V4_0_Main.findFsPath()
at NL2000V4_0.NL2000V4_0_Main.Timer1_Tick(Object sender, EventArgs e)

I already tried just everything I can think of, to install/run the installer as Administrator, as a matter of fact, my account in Win7 is administrator type, got the anti-virus turned off, got UAC all the way down on the bottom, and actually ran out of ideas what else I can try. Please help!

I must say that this Win7 runs on a MacBook Air from the bootcamp.
The FSX * is installed to:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X
