Uninstall Problems?

I was told by a friend that when he uninstalled NL2000 that it caused the fx_1.bmp to be removed from the Effects\Texture folder causing visual effects defects. Is there something wrong with the uninstall program? What exactly does it uninstall? Thanks, Bob.
