Install problems

Post by alan2 » Wed Sep 15, 2010 5:06 am

Impressive scenery, thank you, but Im am having problems.

I have succesfully downloaded these -
EHVK, DR and the libraries ( but the checkbox tick is greyed out).

I am having trouble with the rest of the downloads and keep getting this

message ...

system. NullReferenceExeption: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at NL2000v4_0.NL2000V4_)_0_Main.installPackage(string filename)
at NL2000v4_0.NL2000V4_0_Main.addPackage()

I have failed install on these downloaded _FRn12 , FR002-009,
_GE.n12, GE002-008
FL scenery

Since these files are downloaded can you tell me where to manually install them. If not what am I doing wrong ?

Many thanks for an excellent addition .

Difficult to reply :

1. Did you install in Windows7 , Vista or XP?

2. have you read the manual ?

3. In the colom "downloads" on this forum you can read the correct install procedure . Did you do so?

4. Have you read the FAQs?

Thank you Joop for a quick reply. I will re-read the manual.

I have a question - If I download to a usb hardrive and activate everything from there will the usb hard drive need to be connected at all times with fsx ?

Alan,

Yes, it has to be connected allways, otherwise FSX wil not find the scenery and will come with an error message.
BTW: it's not recommendable to install NL2000 on as USB disk as you can read in the manual.

Hallo there,

having exactly the same troubles while installing "nl2k_v4_resample_NH.nl2" and I have already tried a lot of things as deactivating UAC, giving me permission for my whole disk and compatibility modes. I even placed the installer outside the two program-directories, with no result:
system. NullReferenceExeption: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at NL2000v4_0.NL2000V4_)_0_Main.installPackage(string filename)
at NL2000v4_0.NL2000V4_0_Main.addPackage()
:(

Running on Win7 64 and FSX.

I would LOVE to use your great scenery!

Thanks
Murdoch.

Try to re-download the NH-provence. You might like to try the ftp-server ftp://forumspellen.nl

username: ftp
password: (none)

When logged in, download the module of your choise and extract it with ie. WinRar.
Pull up! *whoop whoop* Pull up!

Hm, somehow it works now. It seems that I forgot to reboot the system after giving me permission to my partition.

Anyway, thanks for your help. :)

Exactly the same problem? After installing FL, FR, GR, NH without problems I want to install 3D, EHGG, EHWL and tree upgrade packages. I received the following error-message (in german...sorry...):

"System.NullReferenceException: Der Objektverweis wurde nicht auf eine Objektinstanz festgelegt.
bei NL2000V4_0.NL2000V4_0_Main.install.Package(String filename)
bei NL2000V4_0.NL2000V4_0_Main.addPackage0"

So, I´m sorry but I don`t understand the answer from "Zodiac" from Nov. 1 2010 and I cannot log in to that ftp-server (?).

What shall I do now exactly? Thank you so much and greetings from East Frisian coast line in Germany

If you run Vista or W7 did you deactivate UAC in Windows?
TIP: sometimes you need to reboot after deactivating UAC.

Hi wolf32 and thank`s so much for your reply.

System: WIN 7 (64) an the UAC is deactivated. That doesn`t alter the fact that i cannot install the additional packages...

Yes, I do so. May I uninstall them to install the nl2k_v4.01 libraries first? I think, I had read something about this in this forum.

Have a nice weekend!

No you don't have to uninstall the photoscenery part FL, FR, GR, NH of NL2000v4.
But when you start to install the 3d package, tree upgrade and airfield package and so on you need to install the nl2k_v4.01 libraries package at first because all the other packages depend on this package.
Be sure you use the latest installer version 4.0.20 (NL2000V4_installer_4.0.20_setup).

:D :D :D That`s it! I had an older version (4.0.17) of the installer. So I installed the new version, the libraries package and so on and now the scenery works.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Maybe, see you in Lelystad, Nov. 5? 8O

Many greetings
Achim (Rory01)
