Torrent download very slow
Hi there,
I'm using uTorrent to download NL2000 v4. The airport modules downloaded quite fast. Almost all of them are finished now and I am seeding all of them. But the large files containing the photo scenery have very slow download rates, some of them even lower than 1 kb/sec. Very frustrating. Is there any way to speed up downloading? There also seem to be only a handful of seeders for the large files. This way, finishing the download to help seeding will take every downloader weeks until they can seed, too. I don't think that the current situation with only a few seeders for the large files will make it any better. Until there won't be more seeders no one will be able to download the scenery in reasonable time.

hello,
I think it is impossible for me to fullfill the whole download. Like the poster before I could download the airports in a quite good manner. But the areas are too large for torrent. I try it for 24hours now, five downloads at a time and the latest is at about 40% with rates below 1kB. I will interrupt it now. The software may be freeware but the costs for electricity are not in relations to it. I don't believe that there will be so many users at a time that the downloadrate will be starting up. Why don't you go via rapidshare, megaupload or such offerers? Even at flightsimcom isn't possible to download the areas because they aren't there! Only the airports. Why not the areas?
with regards Kai

SSSLLLOOOWWW!
I have had Torrent2 running now for almost a week!!
34 files down, 9 to go, seems to really have slowed the last couple of days.
Can't wait for it to finish so I can get flying.
Just a note, my mother is an NL native and really enjoyed the virtual tours I would give her in FS9 with the older versions, great work!!

I'll debate the torrent speed. I suspect it's location related. I just spent about 12 hrs in total and have gotten all the files without any problems using BitTorrent. It seems a smaller download than version 3 for FS9, don't know until i unpack it. Either way it worked fine for me.
Good job on the scenery guys, another sterling effort
