Problem with DVD 5 using WinVista.

Post by sun_king_135 » Sat Feb 02, 2008 4:02 pm

Dear Sirs.

I was very eager to receive your scenery, which looks marvellous in the screenshoots.

However, each time I did the Setup - I checked the setup in that it is used from the administrator - it will give me an error message, as soon as i put in DVD 5 the file name: nl2k_v3_scasm_texture198.nl2

I have tried everything I thought might solve this problem: I re-burned the ISO into a new DVD, copied all onto the Harddisk to setup from there, read through your forum, re-downloaded DVD5 ISO......nothing! It´s always the same error message. It´s so frustrating, because setup would have nearly been done!

Please help!!!

Kind regards.

Hi,

Did you check the contents of the ISO file number 5 with this check utility which you can find overhere
http://www.nl-2000.com/nuke/modules.php ... ic&p=10545
Otherwise you can use "demontools" it's a free program which create a virtual dvd player so you don't need a phisical one in your pc, it's to find with google.
Kind regards

When the error is everytime at the same point in this case at the same file my first idea is that the contents of the ISO file is corrupted.
So you did already try an installation with demontools then you don't have to burn the ISO files on a dvd but you can install directly from hard disk.

I tried it with the file from the ISO burned DVD and even redowbloaded the bittorrent file. This image displays the same error message as with the ISO, but is from the bittorrent file.

Shame that I´ll have to accept the standart MS EHAM.

Kind regards.

Ok don't give up,

Can you do the checksum program on the iso file where you expirience the problem in your case I suppose ISO file number 5, this checksum does not work for the bittorent donwload.
You can find the link to that utility in my post above.

It - winMd5Sum - says that they´re different. But, how come the bittorent file doesn´t work, too? I can not download the file for DVD5 again, because I have no time. Is thee no way to get the correct file?

Kind regards.

Hi, i'don't know why the bittorent didn't work I supose some kind of download problem there was.
Concern your output whith the checksum. It say clearly that the file is corrupted which off course explanes your error, the only way I see is to download only the ISO number 5 again.
I suppose the filesystem where you store your download is NTFS (it must be) and you use the firefox at least version 2 browser to download the ISO file, IE don't support files larger then 2 GB to download.

Hi.

Thanks for your patience and help. Your support is marvellous. :D

I finally managed to install the scenery. Thankfully the download speed was quite high on early Sunday morning. I re-checkt with the tool and installed it.

What shall I say. It´s simply marvellous! :D Now I know, why I don´t want FSX, yet.

Here´s a Screenie from my first Flight: EHAM-EGLL.

Kind regards and Thank you so much. :D
