Installation error, yet another one

Post by Gibbon » Fri Aug 03, 2007 7:36 pm

Ok, i had the .toc error but managed to get round that, now i have a new one. Installation stops at trying to unzip this file,

nl2k_v3_resample_texture012.nl2

Now i appreciate the work you guys have done but this whole proccess of bittorrent and so on is seriously doing my head. I've spent nearly a week downloading and burning dvd's at expense to myself to find it won't unpack a file due to what looks like a faulty download.

I simply refuse to go through all this again so i'm getting the previous version of this scenery and using that. You guys really need to find a format that we can all use that ACTUALLY works for everyone, as this this whole process is simply apalling and putting me off from using what is in effect a fine product but crap way of delivering to the masses.

Sorry for the rant but it's how i feel

Hi, I'm sorry that it didn't work for you. We had several issues with several people, most that could be solved with workarounds. Sometimes we can't find a solution.

The only thing I can think about are:

- try install dot net 3.0
- try to install from harddisk (see manual)

This helped in several cases...

Also you can try to shut down your antivirus software if it's running during installation, or even try to install in "safe mode".
And sometimes it can help to clean your dvd by some dry paper.
Just some other tips, perhaps they are usefull for you.
