If you get the error "Unable to read toc-file" when installing NL2000 version 3.0 please try:

Hi,

first I would like to thank you for this outstanding scenery. Well done!

I have got the upper mentioned problems during installation,

I am running Win Vista 32-bit. I deleted Version 1.1 of .Net after I heard about this problem.

.Net V2 is allready included in Win Vista. Then I wanted to install again but the same problem appeared on and on.

So I installed V3 of .Net but nothing changed.

I don't know what I can do anymore?

Is there any opportunity to delete .Net V2 and V3 cleanly from Win Vista, for a clean reinstallation?

Or do you have any other advice for me ?

Thanks a lot.

Philipp

Hi Phillip,

Wait before deleting .net of your PC, at the moment some more users experience this problem.
We are working on it, at this point it seems that the problem is causing by corrupt .toc files and/or a corrupt NL2000V3 file located on DVD1.
This can be caused by the download process or the burn on DVD process.
So first compare your contents of your dvd's like this list mentionent in the dutch forum (scroll a little down), keep in mind it will not says everything
http://www.nl-2000.com/nuke/modules.php ... 9&start=15
If you don't trust your toc files wich you can open with notepad and should end with "end" than you have to download them again or if it's caused by the burning process you've to try to burn dvd1 again.
Kind regards

Just to keep you informed.
A dutch user told us that his contents check of his DVD's seems correct like on the list, the amount of total files and filesizes were the same.
Strangely when he opened one of his .toc file with notepad located on dvd1 it was totaly empty but the filezise was ok.
So he decided to download dvd1 again with bittorent instead of the http download method.
Now it works fine he reported us at the dutch forum, so in his case his dvd1 seems ok but unfortunally it was incomplete.
So perhaps this information is also usefull for you.

Hi,

I downloaded DVD1 again and I tried to reinstall .NET framework but nothing has changed. What else can I try?

It would be too bad if I can't use your great scenery!

Thanks in advance for your help!

After I accept the Copyright Notice I get this error message:

Installer is unable to read toc-file.
Please run the installer from NL2000 V3 DVD 1.

This is more a step by step procedure, but first of all I recomend you to check the contents of your download, which can be check with the ISO files.
I don't know if you did the bittorent download procedure, otherwise you can download the ISO file 1 or even better all 5 ISO files with Firefox2 at Eweka, you can find the files at our startpage.
After that you can check the contents of you ISO files by a checksum program which is here to find
http://www.nl-2000.com/nuke/modules.php ... ic&p=10545
So than you know for sure if the contents of your download are ok.

First of all thanks for the fast replies!

I downloaded all 5 ISO files and checked them. They are all okay.

Ok, than we can count that out.
Did you try to install it from dvd disk, otherwise you can try to do an installation from Hard drive directly.
(tip for burning on dvd, do not burn at a high burnspeed)
Put both files nl2000v3.exe and vb6stkit.dll in a seperate folder on your harddrive for example temp and try to startup the installation from that folder by clicking nl2000v3.exe when asking to the .toc files redirect to the dvd then or to the location on your harddrive where you located the dvd files on your harddrive.

Now I tried to install it from harddrive, I seperated the both files from the other files and I tried it from the DVD. But always the same error message...

Than it's probably .net problem some computers experience some problems with that, unfortunaly there is not a solution to that then just to try to uninstall .net 1.1 and afterwards install .net 2.0 or even 3.0.
You can try different (mixed) configurations in this but it's not sure that's the answer for some users it was for some not.
Here you can find the links to .net versions

Here some more tips and tricks.
you can download a seperate installer file here wich works with .NET 2.0
http://www.nl-2000.com/nuke/modules.php ... c&start=15

When you do an installation disable your antivirus software.
For some people it works to do an installation in "safe mode"

I tried it with the .net 2.0 installer and it worked, but then I saw that I need a few more GB's to install it. So I closed the installer and after I had enough space, I opened the installer again but then I got an error message from windows. After that I tried once again to uninstall .net 1.1 and installed .net 2.0. But it didn't work anymore, even after some reboots! Some hours later I tried it once more and suddenly it worked again!

Anyway thank you for your great support and the outstanding scenery!
