Compatability with VFR Terrain

Post by pikeymikey » Fri Jan 28, 2005 4:31 pm

Hi.

I've downloaded version 2.91 of this scenery and hope to install it for fs2002. However, I need to ask this first.

I use VFR Terrain for the UK. This edits the relevant coastline files, but only for the UK. This means that large chunks of the netherlands' coastlines are very angular blocks. Does the NL2000 scenery also adjust these coastlins? If it does, will it return the coastlines in the UK back to the inaccurate default ones? Obviously I really don't want this to happen!

Many thanks

Mike

Ruud Fabers FsScene Europe and NL2000

Post by binnendi » Fri Jan 28, 2005 5:17 pm

Is there a way to combine these two great add-ons?
1) Europe textures from Ruud Faber's Fscene
2) NL2000

Best regards,

No, it's not possible to combine these two add-ons "just like that". You have to try out if NL2000 bgl's can be replaced, but I think ypu will miss a lot of the details.

Mike,
I don't think this will give a problem, as NL2000 scenery is not going much further then some miles outside the border.
In order to be sure that the VFR Terrain for the UK will not influence NL2000, be sure that NL2000 is a layer higher then the UK scenery in your scenery librabry.

No, FSScene are replacement textures for the default mesh terrain. NL2000 places custom terrain in the entire Netherlands and does thus cover the default terrain. Therefore they can not be combined, FSScene is just hidden by NL2000.

Sorry Frank, this is not possible.
Main reason is the altitude of the different airports in NL2000. We have put the majority of the airports at zero level, which is different from the Horizon scenery.
