CTD even after uninstall

Post by Phil_W » Mon Jul 05, 2004 5:57 pm

I installed nl2kv291 manually as in the instructions however the performance hit on my machine was too great but the software did work ok without any problems except for performance. However I have now uninstalled the scenery and now whenever I fly from the UK to Holland as soon as I leave the UK coast FS2004 crashes back to the desktop. Before I uninstalled the scenery I used the Feature PAnel to reset the original files and on checking them they appear to have been reset correctly. I have checked for any files in other folders e.g. Afcad folder as suggested in another post but as far as I can tell there aren't any left over. The entry for NL2000 scenery has been deleted from my scenery.cfg file and the scenery.dat files have been rebuilt all without success. It's now begining to look like a complete re-istall of FS2004 which will be a real pain - unless anyone has any more ideas.

All assistance greatfully received.

Phil

in the featurepanel document on our website, there is a description of files that nl2000 changes. Maybe something went wrong when restoring the files of featurepanel. Before you reinstall, check this document first, maybe it is helpfull, it explains how to copy some files on the fs2002 and fs2004 disk without reinstalling fs (if there is indeed a problem with the deinstall of nl2000).

Reverting the AFCADS back to the M$ ones also seesm to have trashed the ones I was using for UK2000 - Doh!

I now have planes going straight into the ground at Heathrow!

Phil,

That is rather strange, the following is happening when you revert back the afcad:

fs2002: the original afcads of the NL fields are installed again
fs2004: just the copies of NL2000 afcad (which are bgl's in the scenery directory of nl2000) are deleted

It is unlikely that this will disturb UK afcad files. How did you install nl2000 and wich version did you use, did you have made a special installation yourself?

Johan

thanks for the info on the Feature Panel documentation, I'll check that out - it might save me a load of work.

Seems like us Phil's have having problems.

Thanks
Phil

All seems ok now at Heathrow - not sure why I was seeing planes 'going in' but there we are! I had jumped back there from having a look at Amsterdam - imention that in case it is of any importance.

One area I have not so far considered is wether or not this is a scenery layer order issue....?

Layering order is not likely causing this, because the afcad files should only working local on the airfield itself.

Maybe it is some issue with afcad, because there are more features that aren't working (e.g. changing the altitude of the afcad file does not place the aircraft on the ground).

Another thing I have noticed.....

In FS 2002 - if I have NL2000 scenery checked in the scenery library I lose all my UK AI traffic...just did a lonely flight tonight around the UK :( :( !

When I uncheck the NL2000 scenery the UK AI traffic returns....hmm

Just thought I'd mention it.

just to confirm - myprevious posts re CDT when app NL2000 refer to FS9.

Some users have reported something like that on some airfield in the Netherlands also, but we could nog reproduce this problem. When we have a solution we will post this on our website...

We are checking all the AFCADs now for the crash reason,
After testing there will be a complete new set AFCADs,
