Install-Problem stops decompressing on first file

Post by jgothe » Sun Jul 15, 2007 12:15 am

Hi,

after downloading the whole Set I try to install NL V3.0 but after starting the Installation, the installer decompress 23MB of the first File and now sits there, doing nothing, at 100% CPU-Use. In the bottom Line of the Installer Ist "Decompressing H:\NL2000V3\nl2k_v3_3D_scenery001.zip" now for one hour ???

Tried it 3 Times..

3,4Ghz P4 CPU, 2GByte Ram.

Hi,

first quick check:

- do you have enough harddisk space free
- Have you .net framework 1.1 or higher installed
- Maybe you have to do a disk check to see if it hasn't a corrupt filesystem.

~250GByte Diskspace left
.net Framework 1.1 and 2.0
Disk is okay
Win XP Professional with all (yesterday) Patches

May be something goes wrong when I copied all Files from Directory on my Internet Unix-Stations to DVD and then to the Windows Playcomputer....

Do you have a Debug-Version of your Installer to see, what Files may be missing ore what goes wrong ?

It could be a problem with the zip dll ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll.
Please try to copy the exe and all dll's from DVD1 to a temp directory on your PC and run the installer from there. The installer will ask you for the .toc files, at that moment point it to the files on DVD1.
