Objects Excluded on "Other" Airports - When NL2000

Post by fltsimguy » Sun May 15, 2011 9:25 am

Hi, I just downloaded the new version but have yet to install.

I installed the previous version sometime back and was very impressed with the airports. Good job.

However, I encountered a problem with the install that I have never been able to fix. So before I try to install the new version I thought I would ask the question about exclude problems.

I used the installed to install the scenery. The NL2000 scenery entries are higher priority than the default scenery and below my other sceneries such as OZ and Orbx. And the order of the scenery entries as is required in your instructions. I do however have an entry for N2000 photo scenery excludes which is currently residing as a lowest of all priorities.

When the scenery is all activated, all my objects on the default airports that are not enhanced by NL2000 have no objects, all objects are excluded for some reason. When I turn off the NL2000 scenery in the library all my objects in the default airports reappear.

Can you please instruct me on how I can have the NL2000 installed and activated and still not impact (by somehow excluding the objects) at the other airports in the region?

Addendum to my Earlier Question on Excludes

Post by fltsimguy » Sun May 15, 2011 9:37 am

By trial and error I found that deactivating the 3D objects scenery layer (which contains a large number of excludes) I can make the objects visable on the none NL scenery airports in the region.

Therefore, it would seem somehow, the excludes in this scenery are extending over areas that are not intended to be impacted?

Do you have the "nl2k_v4_Fotoscenery object_excludes" scenery active in your FSX?

Actually, originally I did, but when I saw it was a set of excludes I turned it off but I still had the issue.

Then I noticed folder "nl2k_v4_3D" has a set of excludes as well.

Now this morning I just checked and now I see that the full set of files 54 excludes in "nl2k_v4_Fotoscenery object_excludes" is also replicated in the "3D" folder. That does not seem correct.

So, should I remove all these excludes? I am not sure what they do and what impact they will have on the rest of the scenery?

I think the best way in this case is to uninstall the 3D package by using the installer of version 4.
After that install the new 3D v4.01 package and the other new v.4.01 packages which can be overwritten (no need to uninstall them first) by using the latest installer (version 4.0.20) and see what results it brings.

thanks for you quick response.

OK, that is sound advice. I will do that.

And, thanks for such a great package of work. A lot of effort to do these sorts of enhancements. I am working on some airports for British Columbia to fit in with the Orbx PNW products and I know how long it takes to produce a good product.

cheers.
