NL 2000 v4.08 problems

I tried to install the version 4.08 but without success.

The files were downloaded, the installer 4.0.74installed without problems.
When trying to install the nl2k v4.08 libraries there was problems.
The installer gave a message not being able to access some files in FSX.
The libraries showed up in the installer view but with the activation box ticked but in grey.

I then tried to install the rest of the files 3D, airports ( not the photo parts).
The files installed without problems and all files also the library showed up in the scenery.cfg
However when starting FSX a message was given that the 4.08 libraries was not found. I still started the FSX running without the 4.08 libraries.
The airports looked great.
When looking into the installed v4.08 libraries no scenery no texture files were found, only 2 small text files. This explained why the library was not found by fsx.

I have tried to reinstall and re download but without success.

I uninstalled v4.08 and downloaded all files for version v4.07.
I could install 4.07 without problems. Only two effects files in the v4.07 library had to be installed manually.

So, am I doing something wrong or do you have a problem with the 0.74 installer and v4.08 libraries.

I am running FSX Acceleration in Win. 8.1

Apologies for the late response, but did you install the installer as administrator?
Also after install you must run the application as installer.

Which files could not be accessed in FSX?

As far as I can see the installation of FSX is not properly registered in the registry or did you move something?

I did try all the supposed alternatives but without success for v. 4.08.
After deinstalling v4.08 I installed version 4.07 without any problems.

The v.4.08 had problems to access the effect folder.
In the library folder no scenery or texture map were installed.
I could run the v.4.08 version and it looked great in the airports.

I now run v4.07 and will make no further changes until you publish the
version 4.09

Did you run the installer as administrator (right-click run as administrator) ?

I tried bouth as administrator and not.
All the same negative results.
