Yes, it has to be connected allways, otherwise FSX wil not find the scenery and will come with an error message.
BTW: it's not recommendable to install NL2000 on as USB disk as you can read in the manual.

Opnieuw proberen zou ik zeggen en goed opletten waar de files heengeschreven worden zodat je met zekerheid weet waar je zoeken moet.

Heb je alleen de installer geinstalleerd soms?
Vanuit dit programma moet je alle scenery installeren.

Indien je dit gedaan hebt, kijk dan je scenery.cfg eens na en controleer eens of je de diverse scenery files op je HD hebt staan

Je vindt dit in je fs9.cfg, welke niet in de fs9 directory staat. Handigste is om even met de zoekfunctie te bepalen waar die precies staat bij jou. Overigens heb ik niet het idee dat je AI vliegtuigen in de lucht hangen door deze instelling, maar dat je e.e.a. niet goed hebt ingesteld in het featur...

Het is beter om de oude versie te verwijderen, daar er hoogte conflicten kunnen ontstaan.
Het gaat met name om de verwijzingen in de scenery.cfg die eruit moeten, want hierdoor ontstaan de conflicten.
